At Action Outdoors, we aim to provide a package that is tailored to suit your individual needs. You can sample an activity in a 2 hour session, or combine several activities over half a day or longer, or try an Action Outdoors Challenge, combining activities to solve a conundrum. We can also organise transport and accommodation, from camping to luxury apartments. For more ideas, look at our gallery of photos from some of our recent events.

We also offer pre-arranged sessions and courses. For upcoming dates, please click here.

Our prices are competitive and depend upon your individual programme, but as a guide a 2 hour session for up to 10 people costs £120. If you are working within a budget, we are happy to talk to you about what we can offer. Call us, or email us with your number and we will talk to you about planning your perfect outdoor experience.

KAYAKING
With our contemporary boats and expert tuition, the basic skills of kayaking can be mastered in a matter of minutes. This makes it perfect for a two hour session. You can also develop skills such as paddling strokes, rescue techniques and rolling, essential for the excitement of white water river runs.

CANOEING
Canadian canoes are the easiest way to start paddling. Perfect for a fun afternoon on a lake or touring around the waterways of Northern Ireland encountering countryside and wildlife that can only be reached by boat.

BOULDERING
This relatively new sport involves making your way up a river or around a rocky coast (Coasteering). After you have donned a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet, our experienced staff will guide you as you climb, swim and crawl up waterfalls and pools, finishing with a 2 metre high jump into the river. Suitable for all ages, you can take on the challenges at your own level.

"Many thanks for taking us bouldering session.... we all really enjoyed it and hope to do it again soon." Ian & Cherry Love, Limavady

HILL WALKING
Walking is the perfect way to shrug off the stresses of life and enjoy breathtaking scenery, our local history and an array of wildlife. There are routes to suit the seasoned walker as well as the less adventurous. After as little as 40 minutes walking, you can be in the heart of the Mournes, looking across Ben Crom Reservoir and out across the Irish Sea - or ascending Divis Mountain for spectacular views of Belfast.

MOUNTAIN SKILLS
We recommend that you have the basic skills before exploring the beauty of the mountains. We can teach you essential skills such as map reading, using a compass and making the right decisions when faced with unexpected situations.

WILDERNESS SKILLS
Spending time in the outdoors without many of the everyday gadgets and the hustle and bustle that we take for granted can be an amazing experience. On afternoon sessions or overnight trips, we show you skills such as foraging for food, backwoods cooking and making cordage from plants. You can even spend a night under the stars in a shelter that you have erected yourself, warmed by your own fire. We teach these skills in accordance with the "Leave No Trace" principles and teaching respect for the environment..

"Matthew, who is 7, hasn't stopped talking about it! It was an experience he will never forget." Ian Baxter, Fathers Go Ferral event, Castle Espie.

ROCK CLIMBING
Climbing can be done at an indoor climbing wall or on a genuine rock face outside. Either way, you get a rush of adrenaline and the feeling of satisfaction when you reach the top. There are numerous locations to do both across Northern Ireland and further a field. From two hour introductory sessions to longer courses giving you the experience and confidence to lead climbs, set up top ropes and belays and use a full range of equipment, you'll be in safe hands.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
Mountain biking offers an exhilarating off-road experience of fast downhill sections, bumps and jumps, perfect for young (and not so young) thrill seekers. For more leisurely groups the new family style routes through some of the best scenery in Northern Ireland provide a perfect backdrop for brushing up on a rusty skill that most of us took for granted as children.

ARCHERY
This is a great activity for a session. It doesn't take long to get the basic technique, and then we can improve your aim to get you closer to the gold. A great sport to challenge yourself, or your friends to the highest score.

ORIENTEERING
Great for developing your map work skills, your planning skills and your ability to work together if you are feeling competitive, or as a relaxing way to explore the countryside, orienteering

TEAM BUILDING
Whether you have a new group who want to have a fun day getting to know each other or a group that would benefit from a day of teamwork activities, we can provide a programme that will encourage skills such as participation, group work and motivation.

LEADERSHIP
Suitable for young people and adults working with children and young people, we provide a comprehensive course covering the main aspects of leadership including facilitation, group dynamics and progression.

TEAM CHALLENGES
For something different, try a challenge for your organisation or group. We adapt our challenges to suit each group. Solve the clues, complete the physical challenges and be the first team to the reach prize.

"Chris put a lot of thought into organising the activities and making it very meaningful by incorporating our Malawi trip into the theme for the day. A thoroughly enjoyable day and would recommend them to any group." Hillsborough Presbyterian Church

ABSEILING
Leaping off a 60 ft bridge or descending a rock face in the Mournes gives a great sense of acheivement, whether it is to raise money for your chosen charity or while collecting clues on a Team Challenge. Our instructors are experienced at taking even the most nervous over the edge.
